Material application with a robotic end-of-arm tooling is one of CFM Robotics’ greatest areas of expertise. It notably includes primer application, plasma treatment (surface treatment) or foam application (self-adhesive material). The robotization of this kind of application has many benefits; decrease in health and safety risks and reduction of rejected parts.
Primer application is a process by which a coating layer is applied to a part to increase the adhesion of a second material. By robotizing the application of a primer or an adhesive, we combine precision and consistency with speed.
Plasma surface treatment technology offers innovative solutions to adhesion and moisture problems for different materials. This application helps the adhesion of material and can replace the primer. Not only does it reduce the costs of operation, but it also reduces the cycle times since no drying is required, unlike the application of a primer.
Foam application is used in many industrial processes due to its insulating capacity and very lightweight. Although the foam application is the main function of the robotic cell, CFM Robotics has also developed a strong expertise in foam management (input/rolls and output/waste).
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
CFM Robotics has several certified specialists in the field who seek to transcend the boundaries of existing processes, but also to surpass themselves in the new technologies offered to date in terms of application of material by robotic hand.
